San Diego Family Portraits – Crystal Pier Pacific Beach at Sunset

This was simultaneously the worst and best photo taking conditions I’ve ever worked in. A little rain (OK, a lot of rain, and wind) was not going to stop us! As soon as we started taking photos, the storm arrived. We tried hiding out under the pier as the lifeguards got everyone out of the water due to the lighting! Thankfully, it passed and the tropical heat dried us out quickly. And then everything came together PERFECTLY!

(The next morning after our shoot, I saw this image in the paper. Yup…that was us, right there under that big downpour. That’s exactly how I remember it.)
